Thru the Years

Thru the Years

Thru the Years
~Mary Dickens
I was asked to share something about what the past fifteen years of ministry at Pregnancy Resources has meant to me. As I write I am two days away from stepping into a new chapter in my life as I begin “retirement.” If you know me at all that does not mean I will be sitting around eating chocolate bon bons and watching soap operas!

This story represents what we do at Pregnancy Resources and how we have impacted families.
Recently, a client, Grace, (not her real name) from years ago stopped by the Center just to see who was still involved in the ministry. She expected to see Judy Iwinski sitting at the receptionist desk with her smiling face! I came from the administrative area of the Center and saw a client who I hadn’t seen in many years. She came faithfully, along with her boyfriend for classes each of their pregnancies. They have a set of twins and two daughters. The couple took the parenting classes, Bible studies and utilized Bella’s Closet for each pregnancy. She would also stop by many times just to chat and share with us how each of their children were growing and when they started school. We talked about many things while she was here and how they have faced many obstacles in their lives but nothing “they couldn’t handle.” Grace and her family have purchased a home, became members of a local church and all have been baptized. Grace teaches Sunday School at their church and a wedding is being planned for 2016. One of the hardest things to accept in the work we do is that many times we never know how the “story” ends. But God, was so gracious in bringing Grace back to the Center where she was ministered to and accepted as one of His children. Little did we know all those years ago that by doing what we have been called to do that is to “plant the seed” that we would get to see the lives prosper and grow in God’s love!

Throughout the years I have been honored to work alongside many wonderful men and women and will treasure the memories the rest of my life. Physically, I am leaving Pregnancy Resources but you will always be in my heart.
