Preeclampsia cautions alerted Melinda to need for immediate medical care

Melinda was in class when our volunteer teacher mentioned that nausea late in pregnancy was sometimes a symptom of preeclampsia. Melinda had been experiencing nausea, but hadn’t thought much of it.

Melinda called her doctor after class. She did have preeclampsia. She was admitted to the hospital and delivered her baby via emergency C-section. She said if she had not come to our class and heard about the symptoms of preeclampsia, she doesn’t know what might have happened. Preeclampsia is a very serious medical condition, and she or her child could have died.

Volunteer Diane Wirtz (who taught Melinda’s class) had come in that day feeling under attack. She was bombarded by thoughts from the enemy: “What are you going there for? You aren’t needed there.” She had felt this kind of attack before, but not this fiercely!

We know now why she was here and why the enemy was attacking her. Her words helped save a mom and a child’s life. To God be the glory!
